Zelenskyy Inspects Troops Close to Conflict-Stricken Pokrovsk Area
The head of state conducted a visit to meet with national troops in the eastern front on the weekday. The president confirmed that he engaged with soldiers at the military base of the initial brigade of the state defense force Azov, which is managing protective maneuvers in the Dobropillya area, an urban center approximately 12 miles from the focal point.
Critical Conditions in the Area
Geospatial data from a Ukrainian project showed that Russian forces had pushed further into Pokrovsk and nearby locations, though a large portion was not fully held by any party. The situation remains critical, with updates indicating that opposition troops were establishing defenses and building up positions in some districts.
Opposition armies are making progress in the Pokrovsk front and seem to be functioning with enhanced confidence within Pokrovsk itself.

Local officials confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that caused its water treatment facility to partially collapse, adding that the reason for the blast was unconfirmed. Defense units reported hitting a petroleum facility at the location in the federal district east of Moscow. The extent of the damage was under evaluation. The territorial leader verified an assault by numerous aerial vehicles near the refinery.
Moscow's Defense Policy Changes
Russian military reservists will now have to guard oil refineries against aerial attacks after Vladimir Putin signed a law on the start of the week expanding their participation in the conflict. The head of state also signed a law permitting draft enrollment continuously whereas earlier it occurred only during specific times in cooler seasons. Moscow legally bars recruits from being deployed to combat, but after their defense commitment they become part of the backup units, placing them in danger of being assigned to combat zones.
Heavy military spending have also started to stress the federal treasury, with the government increasing levies to plug a rising deficit.

Zelenskyy called on America to continue considering to supplying Kyiv with extended-distance arms.
